Crab Legs are Best for Entertainment Purposes

I had to learn the hard way that crab legs are better for entertainment rather than consumption and of all times, over Easter weekend. Tyler and I trekked to my sister's in Bloomington, Indiana for the holiday weekend. It was about a four hour drive. Tyler drove, I slept. This is standard protocol for me in a car and Tyler recently has come to terms with this. I have 'car' and 'watching a movie' narcolepsy -- it is a problem.

On Saturday evening, Kinzie (my sister), Corey (my brother-in-law), Oliver (my adorable nephew), Tyler, and I all went to an early Easter church service.

On the Way to Church
We cruised past Red Lobster on the way to church and thought it would be a great idea to have dinner there since Tyler had never been there. Crazy, right?! I am surprised he's comfortable calling himself American before Saturday. Usually I go with Walt's Favorite Shrimp, but this time my sister and I decided to share the Sweet Chili Shrimp and Crab Legs. Fast forward about 6 hours and I was sick. I will spare you the details but I had the flu all Easter Eve and Day. I cannot prove or disprove that the crab legs caused my puking rally but you know how that goes. Anytime you get pukey whatever you ate last will forever make you ill just thinking about it. So let's just say I will never eat crab legs again.

Oliver had a great time with a crab leg so I don't totally regret going to RL and ultimately getting sick.

"What have we got here"

"You want some of this?"

"Mahhh"

"Sorry Daddy, I didn't mean it"

I think what was most hilarious about Oliver's show is that the crab leg is slightly reminiscent of Pepe the Prawn from the Muppet's, less the sweatshirt and cell phone.

First Important Note to Self: Don't Leave Tyler and Kitty Home Alone

I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator...which is not a good combo. I created my blog about a month ago and still haven't posted yet! I really wanted a great layout and didn't want to post until it looked amah-zing. So I started the design...didn't finish it because I got busy with work and I started a post but didn't finish it because I was trying to tweak my design. Sooo I am just going to forget the design for now and start posting. With a month passed you would think it would look pretty cool but honestly it is pretty plain. Without further ado, here is my first post:

3/14/12
A few things to put out there for my first post:
1.Kitty is my cat (too much to write about her right now, so full details of her greatness will be written at a later date)
2.Tyler is my boyfriend of almost two years and we just moved in together about 2 weeks ago (more details to follow on him as well)

Tyler was at home, taking the day off so he had been calling me a lot just to talk about nothing. I was super busy at work so I couldn't chat. Once I got a break in my workload I gave him a call back and to my surprise he was busy...busy trying to cut the cat's nails! He said, "I can't talk now."
Me: "Why Not?" I was confused since he was calling me off the hook just minutes before.
Tyler: "I have my hands full!"
This sounded pretty suspicious to me.
Me: "Doing what?!"
Tyler mumbled: "Cutting Kitty's nails."

I yelled at him to stop. Kitty is sensitive. For example, she only likes her head scratched. If you touch any other body part she might bite you...or at least pretend to. I knew this could not end well for either of them. I was so afraid that he was going to clip her nails too short and hurt my baby. Turns out, Kitty won. Tyler gave up and wasn't even able to get one of her daggers cut.

The good news is that she had a vet appointment at the end of March at South Loop Animal Hospital. I love them -- they are so good to her there. We got her first nail trim done and the Doctor showed us how to do it ourselves. He wrapped Kitty in a cat burrito with a towel and pulled one leg out at a time. It took 3 people. The doctor trimming the nails, the nurse holding the cat burrito, and then her mama to comfort her. She hated it. I hated it. She made awful noises and tried to escape out of the burrito. I don't think I will ever be able to do that to her. But she hasn't been scratching the leather ottoman anymore so I am sure the next time that I leave Tyler and Kitty home alone, there will be a second clipping attempt.

Two can play this game.
